Waking Up From Sleep Song Cycle

1. When you are asleep, you are no longer vigilant.

2. Before you go to sleep, your vigilance is diminished.

3. You are no longer so attentive to what is outside your mind.

4. Your mind may present images, called hypnogogic images.

5. You will see an image morph into a new image.

6. One image will flow into one another image
Like the forms of smoke flow into one another.

7. Your mind will blow off steam like an old smoking locomotive.

8. If your mind can’t discharge, it will build up an
Internal pressure.
The rigors of life will make you
Anxious and tense.
You may need a drug to
Help you blow off your steam
And look within and see images
Which are conjured up by your own
Brain.
You may need a pill just to go to sleep.



9. Living in a city is like
Living in a war zone.
Cars rush by like war chariots.
Tall buildings are battlements to scale.

10. You are expected to prove yourself
To get a job and hold a job.
You are expected to prove yourself
In face to face arguments and in debates.

11. For some people
City life is easier than all this.
But for many persons,
City life brings on an early
Death.

12. We want a more peaceful life,
Not our cities turned into ashes.

We don’t want our cities bombed
Yet we bomb foreign cities.
Jesus! Have we no sense?
Is there no karma,
No cause and no effect?
Ought we not expect many of our cities
To be redeemed by the
Process of cause and effect?



13. Let us work for peace and understanding.
Let’s become as zealous an army for peace
As our ancestors were a zealous army for battle.
It’s not too late for us to be transformed.
It’s not too late for us to be redeemed.

14. When one is at peace, one’s armor is off.
The body and the mind feel so light and so airy.
One stirs in the breath of life and lives in joy.
One doesn’t think of the hate in others eyes.

15. Some boys shoot at the singing bird.
The unguarded person is an easy target.
So people learn to be vigilant
And their minds speak openly mainly just before
They go to sleep
And right after they awaken.



16. I offer healing and peace to all nations.
I am the mind set free and ready to set
Every mind free.

17. I make the healing current accessible for you to feel.
I am the sky made more visible and audible.
I am what shines in the sky put into words
For everyone to hear and see.

18. Men hide from me in their suits and their armor.
Women hide from me in their dresses, their hose,
Their chatter, and their perfume.

19. When you are asleep or stoned you meet me
Fleetingly in your visions of paradise.
You feel as if you are floating or flying.
You become a fish or a bird.
Then your mind morphs you into a monster,
And you become that which makes you afraid.
You’re not yet the master of your mind.

20. In warmth and in slumber your guard is down.
You let your mind open wide like a night blooming Cereus
In the warm darkness of a Mexican summer.



21. I am the redeemer of all humanity.
I am not one flesh and blood person.
I am the process of healing which comes
Through the mind and body of every healer
Fused into a rejuvenating fire.

22. You were once a baby with no name,
And no consciousness of names.
You wore no armor suit of iron plate
Or woolen plaid.
You were light and airy and free.

23. The sky didn’t frighten you in your nakedness,
And to get your vitamins, you didn’t need
To buy anything.
Your skin was exposed to the air and the sun.
I shone so bright in your eyes then.



24. Now try to imagine if Christ had said all this
To the Roman soldiers heavily armor clad.
Think of the social codes in Israel at the time.
Think of all the adults
Unaccustomed to being naked in public.

25. Imagine Jesus telling people to
Consider the lilies of the field and then
Saying how humans aren’t born with
Hard shells like dung beetles.

26. The Christ wasn’t real to these cultures.
People said The Christ must be from God.
But I am just a man, and
The old myths are just steam out of
Old locomotives.



27. Even today, some people
Lose the minds they were saddled and bridled with
As youths and teenagers.
The responsibilites of adult life they throw off.
In their visions they may see wild animals
Morphing into monsters.

28. Their lives become devoted to the
Dream images within themselves.
They are in the world but not of the world,
And they make a new culture, based upon a dream.

29. Come and see
The next stage is higher understanding
Of skin and the mind of skin.

30. The eyes are skin and brain
Brought close together by evolution.
Out in the weather we will go
And experience life like our prehistoric kin
Who never saw snow
And enjoyed taking a shower
Out in the warm rain
Without fear.



31. To bring The Great Peace
Aquarius doesn’t change the weather.
Aquarius just changes our response to
Weather and each other.
