1. The key to progress and peace is presently being taught in thousands of secondary schools and in colleges, without a clear understanding of its full value.

2. The key peace idea isn't a fantasy, a hope, or a dream. It's a basic reality of hard science.

3. The key process is a fact, then, not just an idea.

4. Because this process is a fact, it's as real as this large key I hold in my hand. It's not just a wish or an idler's prayer.
5. Oh. But you say there's no large key in my hand. In fact, you see that I'm holding nothing at all in my hand.
6. So you are right. In fact as you read this article, you can't see me at all. But since you know where writing comes from, you have an abiding faith that I'm a real person, and not just some imaginary character.
7. But I've dawdled long enough here. You want me to make my point.

8. In every modern high school, college or university, the value of variation is taught in evolutionary biology. And in the long history of science and technology, the value of variations in approach is taught. New approaches to an old problem can bring a new solution and genuine progress. Therefore we see that variation is a proven good.

9. More specifically, in a world of many ethnic stocks, modern biology teaches the essential value of these subtle differences. So in a community of a million genetic entities, the unusual ones are of special value without a doubt! And in a world of six or more billions of persons, it's the ethnic groups numbering in the thousands of individuals or fewer, who need special help, care, encouragement, and support. A careful study of evolution and progress shows us this key fact.

10. In light of this, we look around today and we see so many groups attacking their neighbors, and we realize it's because these people weren't raised to take biology seriously. As children they weren't helped to enjoy nature and science more and more. And in high school they weren't encouraged to study biological science, genetics and evolution. Certain other subjects were emphasized a lot more than these subjects!

11. Young children of different ethnic backgrounds tend to be more tolerant of novelties and differences. Young children also tend to be naturally interested in science and nature study. By the time of puberty, when self-consciousness and peer pressure tend to make youths less tolerant, the need is for youths to study biology and evolution more, and not less!
12. By age sixteen every intelligent youth can understand population genetics well enough to understand the main points of the cogent argument about progress and peace. Traditional cultures often have practiced genocide. This has been destructive to the human species as well as to other species. Hard science shows us exactly how this is true. This isn't "just being idealistic" at all.
13. To get on the future survival course, the young people in every nation need to be taught the full value of variation within a population of living plants, animals, and humans. The pressing need today is for millions more peers, parents, teachers and community leaders to help raise this key consciousness. Many of my songs, poems and other writings help. You can help me find more to share with others.
